If you're dealing with mountain land, what food plot mixes do well in thin..rocky soil? Clover and chicory have been hit-or-miss for me, well depending on rain and sun. Has anyone tried brassicas or oats up high? I'm looking for easy options that still attract deer on steep slopes

That area is rough. Try a tough seed mix like turnips and winter rye, they're hardy and dont need much water to attract deer.

Rye and brassica mixes such as rape or kale are great for steep, thin-soiled hills. Deer go crazy for them after a frost coming.

Yeah, mountain soil can be tough. Oats mixed with winter rye have worked okay for me...they sprout fast and deer love them after the first frost.

If you're growing brassicas on mountain plots with low pH, what soil amendments (like lime or fertilizer) have worked best for you?
