My take on 12 and 20 gauge

I grew up on a 20 gauge cause it is light, easy on the shoulder and perfect for upland birds and long days in the field. Last season I picked up a 12 for waterfowl and shotgun deer and it hits harder and handles slugs without complaining. I run modified chokes for mixed hunting and full when I need tight patterns. My point is, both are useful depending on the job. Which gauge do you reach for and why?

I reach for a 20 for all day upland because it’s light and points easy, but when geese or slugs show up I grab the 12. Match choke to the job and you’re set.
