In 2013, after years of doctor visits, neurologist appointments and visits to neuromuscular specialists, I was diagnosed with a condition called Multi-focal motor neuropathy which is a degenerative peripheral motor condition with no treatments and no daily meds.
The only thing my neurologist could do is to help me get an electric scooty chair.
Or, rigorous physical therapy with resistance training and cardio.
My weight had ballooned to over 230 pounds. With the help of my wonderful wife, It took me most of a year to relearn to walk using the muscles in my legs that still work and in 2015 my wife and I joined the YMCA in Cumberland MD.
In 2020 my wife and I joined a gym In Romney WV that was a health and fitness center that does regular fitness assessments. I was down to 140 pounds and 14% bodyfat and was back to hiking and biking the local mountain trails.
However, I did have some baggy skin so I decided to see if I could fill it with muscle.
Last September I was assessed as being 170 pounds and 12% bodyfat.
Today I was 176 pounds.
I have another assessments scheduled in March.
