I recently came across Montana Knife Company while listening to the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership podcast featuring their founder, Josh Smith. He shared some interesting insights about their focus on high-quality, American-made knives. The knives look impressive, but I haven’t had a chance to try one myself. Has anyone here used their knives? I’d love to hear how they perform in the field.

My buddy has their Blackfoot fixed blade. He let me try it while we were camping in Idaho. I used it to split kindling and then slice dinner. Still shaved hair after. They are not hype, they perform. I would not mind adding one to my kit.

I handled one at a show. Fit and finish were excellent, very sharp out of the box. Pricey compared to imports, but if you want USA-made, they seem worth it.

Makes sense Montana is Blackfoot land.
Yeah, the Blackfoot name fits those knives. I am eyeing the 4-inch model for my next hunt. It is light enough for packing but still handles heavy tasks. You got any experience with their other blades?
