Barrel Extension

I got a CMMG .22lr upper for my PSA AR pistol. It has a 4.5" barrel and with the supplied barrel device, it barely cleared the handguard. Practicing holding it in the house, I found that my thumb was uncomfortably close to the business end of the barrel. I put a sling mount on to kinda act as a thumb stop.

I started looking for something to extend the muzzle a bit more to make me feel a little more safe. I found a 6" barrel extension that looks kinda cool too.

It's a 1" id hollow aluminum tube with screw on end caps that weighs almost nothing. It'll be interesting to see what it sounds like.
I have yet to shoot it, every time I plan to go to the range, it starts raining.

Thought I'd try it on my PSA pistol. I already have a linear compensator on it.

With the extension.

That barrel extension setup sounds like it'll change the balance noticeably so first impressions should be interesting.

On a compact setup like that, even small changes can make a big difference in how it feels in hand. I'll be interested to hear how it affects balance and noise once you get some rounds through it.

Using a sling mount as a thumb stop actually makes sense. Short-barreled pistols really need some kind of hand reference point anyway.
