Thinking about going on a trip to South Africa. I have heard that hunting there is quite special. But I need to hear some stories related first. What are some highs and lows about the experience there?

Highs in South Africa include spotting kudu at dawn in the bushveld, nothing like it, but lows are the long flights and jet lag messing with your shots. Book with a outfitter who handles permits, or you end up stuck at customs. How long do you plan to stay there?

One low is the heat in summer hunts, pack extra water and light gear.

High was taking a gemsbok with a bow, but watch for ticks, they are everywhere and carry nasty bugs down there.

I was thinking about the heat too. But it is just a 10-day trip so I think I will handle. Did you go there or ?

I've always wanted to visit South Africa! The idea of exploring its landscapes and wildlife up close is incredible

I've actually been to South Africa, but not for hunting, more for travel and sightseeing. I've always wondered what the hunting experience adds to that adventure

I've always went with CT Safaris. It's ran by a guy by the name of Chris Troskie. He offers both sight seeing and hunting. I always went for the hunting but there's a ton of stuff to visit if you would rather not hunt. But if you like to hunt..........Oh my goodness.
