hey y'all, just got my hands on a 10/22 and wow, talk about a fun little shooter! it’s awesome right outta the box, but I know the real magic is in the upgrades. trying to take it easy though and do things one step at a time.

what did you guys start with? any cheap mods that really made a difference or just added some fun? I'm all ears, trying to figure out where to begin!

Start with a better trigger, like the Volquartsen drop-in kit. It makes the pull crisp and light for about $100. Then add a cheap red dot sight like a Bushnell TRS-25 for fast target acquisition. What kind of shooting are you doing with that 10/22?

I've done nothing to mine. If I was going to go down the rabbit hole I would begin with making it easier to shoot, trigger, etc. Your friend is here.

Trigger can be a good one, followed by sights. You didn't mention if you added a scope or? at this point.

It's easier to spend more on mods than the price of the rifle. I guess that's ok for some but it seems to take away from what is was meant to be, a handy field accurate 22 rifle.

I put a Williams peep sight on mine, I wanted irons for practice but I did have issues with mags some. Go factory for mags, the black ones seem best compared to the see thru ones. Mine was used and the trigger was awesome on it, it was the reason I purchased it at the time.

This is what happens when you fall down the modding rabbit hole...

I remember picking up my first 10/22, it was stock at first, and I couldn't believe how fun it was. I started with a simple upgraded trigger and a better optic, and that really changed the game without breaking the bank

Which trigger and optic did you choose, and what upgrade are you planning next?
