After my sister shot my.22LR AR rifle last month.

She went out and got herself a S&W 15-22 pistol. I put a red dot and flip up sights on it and today she drove all the way out to the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and the two of us spent the day at the range.

She brought her S&W 15-22 pistol and a Ruger Wrangler Birdshead. Both in .22LR.

I brought my PSA AR pistol and Glock 43.

After we got her 15-22 sighted in and my new 3x prism sight sighted in, we put up a fresh target and blasted away....

That S&W 15-22 pistois an absolute blast and the red dot setup is perfect for cheap plinking out in the Eastern Panhandle. Pairing that with a Ruger Wrangler is just a killer setup for a fun .22LR range day

The .22 LR AR-style rifle is a perfect way to introduce new shooters to the platform due to the light recoil and low cost of ammunition, it's a fun and easy way to learn the fundamentals

Since you're asking, it sounds like she might be ready for her own. The two most popular and highly-rated AR-style .22 LR rifles are the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 and the Tippmann Arms M4-22

She already has a Smith & Wesson Volunteer XV 5.56 and that's her 15.22 pistol. She really prefers the pistol since it weighs less that 3.5 pounds.
