I picked up a rifle in .300 Blackout last year because I got a good deal. Problem is I've only found ammo for it twice and it was expensive both times. Gun just sits there looking pretty. Anyone else buy something and then realize ammo's impossible to get?

Yep, that’s how it goes, buy the rifle cheap, then pay rent‑money every time ammo appears.

Yep, Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull. Unbelievable great deal. No ammo could be found for months, and when I did find a 20 round box it was like $80. Kept it for about a year hoping ammo would be cheaper - no luck. Sold to a guy headed to Alaska where ammo is common. Like most who sell, wish I'd kept it.

That’s rough, it always stings letting a good one go

Similar story for me, Alan, except I bought it because it was the ugliest new rifle I had ever seen. Twice ammo was stumbled upon and bought both times. It has been in the ex-refrigerator gun locker, unfired, since I scoped it. If it is ever shot and I like it, hand loading will probably be necessary.
