9mm was the easiest to shoot quickly and accurately. .40 S&W had more snap than I remembered. .45 felt softer than expected in a full-size gun. 10mm was impressive. .357 Sig was loud and flat. They all have their place but none made me abandon 9mm :)

I tried the same experiment with different calibers and ended up with the same answer: 9mm just clicks for speed and control. The others are fun but harder to move fast with.

That’s seriously impressive, running all those calibers back-to-back takes dedication and your takeaways are spot on.

Did a similar test last summer, shot a .40 side by side with my G19 and my hands hurt for two days. For volume shooting, 9mm just makes sense. The .45 was surprisingly pleasant though, like shooting into a soft pillow.

I did that very comparison last summer. The .40 just stung my hands, the .45 felt pretty pleasant and the 10mm got my attention. I still stick with 9mm for my everyday carry but I totally understand why people like the others.
