Got out to the New River in West Virginia last weekend. The weather was pretty mild, and the water was running clear. I was aiming for some smallmouth bass, throwing some crankbaits and a few soft plastics. Ended up with a couple of nice 2-pounders but lost a nice one right at the boat — always seems to happen! Fished with a buddy who had a tough time and got skunked, but hey, that’s fishing. How’s everyone else doing? Any luck in your neck of the woods?
