I went to an outdoor night shoot and realized I wasn't prepared at all. How do you practice for actual dark conditions?

I mess with shooting in the dark at home using dry fire stuff with no ammo, just moving shadows. Shooting outside at night showed me dark messes with how far things seem and timing way more than any indoor gun range.

Attach a tactile light to your pistol. If your pistol does not have a rail, buy and use a small [and very bright] LED flashlight. There are videos on YouTube that will show you how to hold a pistol and a flashlight. One last thing, the flashlight should have a "flood" and "pulse" setting.
