They'd watched me get ready for range days more times than I can count, loading gear into the truck, going through my mental checklist, all of it. So when they finally asked to come along one Saturday, I didn't expect it to hit me the way it did.

We spent the whole afternoon out there, going over the basics, watching their form actually develop in real time, and fielding more questions than I think either of them had ever asked me in one sitting. By the time we packed up and started driving home both of em were quieter than usual, clearly still turning something over in their heads. I was doing the same thing, just from the driver's seat. Somewhere in that one afternoon, the hobby stopped being something I just do and started being something I actually share and that's a different feeling entirely and I wasn't quite ready for how much it changed things but I am glad it did.

That’s a special kind of range day. When it shifts from just your routine to something you’re sharing, it changes the whole experience in a good way

That is great! Teach them gun safety and respect at a young age and they will remember their entire lives. This is useful knowledge for hunting, plinking, and especially self defense. You get the gold star for the day.
