There wasn’t some big moment that made carrying click for me. One day I just put the gun on, left the house and went about my normal day without thinking much about it, that’s when I realized it had become routine instead of something different. I honestly think that’s probably how carrying is supposed to feel.

For me it was kinda just a part of getting used to living in a small West Virginia mountain town. After I learned that guns were just part of the home decor out here, I stopped giving a poop about whether or not my snubby was printing, 'specially after I saw a few people open carrying.

That sounds about right. Once it stops being something you’re consciously thinking about and just becomes part of your normal routine, that usually means your setup and habits have all settled in.

Yeah, context really changes perception. In areas where firearms are just part of daily life, people tend to focus less on appearance or printing and more on practical comfort and familiarity especially once they’ve been around it long enough.

There’s this moment when the day stops feeling like just another event and starts feeling like an expense. That’s when the real mindset shift happens.
