I swapped to an ultra-light buffer trying to make my AR run softer. Instead it became over-gassed and unreliable. So I went back to standard and it ran perfectly again. Not every modification is an improvement, sometimes stock configurations are stock because they're optimized. That's a lesson to not fix what isn't broken...

One time, I tried swapping out the trigger springs on a pistol for some super light ones. It felt nice at first but then I kept running into light strikes. I switched back to the factory springs and suddenly reliability was back on point.
