My coworker couldn’t understand why I’d spend a whole Saturday shooting paper targets. He compared it to golf, just hitting a little ball toward a hole over and over. That’s when it clicked for me. From the outside, both are probably look boring but when you’re actually doing it, they’re super engaging precision sports. It really made me realize how much context matters..

I like to explain practice like archery. you are repeating the same motion, trying to tighten your groups and get more control. Once people start seeing it as skill-building, it just clicks.

I think that comparison hits the mark. Both look boring sitting on the couch but you need focus and skill and they give that satisfying feedback loop. It’s all about the context...
