My Dad taught me to take 3 steady deep breaths right at the end of exhaling the last breath hold your breath at that time there are a couple split seconds when your heart calms . That's when you squeeze the trigger. Thats worked with me for many years now.Tell me I’m not alone here… Anyone else get nervous right before the shot? What do you do to shake it off and get steady?

Sometimes a quick laugh is the best resetTotally get the jitters! I just breathe deep and chuckle
Amazing how much timing your breathing with the trigger can calm everything down.My Dad taught me to take 3 steady deep breaths right at the end of exhaling the last breath hold your breath at that time there are a couple split seconds when your heart calms . Funny how often good shooting habits come straight from DadsAlways. Even shooting at paper or steel. Just like WV460HUNTER, my dad taught me the same thing.
That’s a great perspective. Thanks for sharingI preached on the radio for years. I remember the first several months being so nervous. A friend of mine went with me in the early days. He was accustomed to singing on live radio. I asked him how he kept from feeling like me. He said to simply focus on what you are doing & nothing else.
