Makes sense. I do like tinkering but if factory shells are that good now, might be smarter to just buy and spend that time scouting or shooting instead.I dabbled with reloading turkey shells a while back. It’s fun if you like tinkering and chasing the perfect pattern, but honestly factory loads have gotten so good it’s tough to beat them on cost or performance, I mostly just buy now
Good point, TSS does make factory loads tough to beat unless you're aiming for tiny gains. If I reload, it'll be for patterning and bragging rights, not savingsUnless you shoot a ton, factory TSS is hard to beat economically, reloading is for pattern density perfection and bragging rights. Check out Longshot powder if you commit to the DIY route
That’s the appeal, it is not a money-saver unless you shoot a ton but patterning and taking a tom with your own load? that's worth every minute. I’ll try a fewYeah, I’ve rolled my own a few times , fun project but not exactly a money saver unless you shoot a ton. but still, patterning your custom load and dropping a tom with it? That’s a sweet feeling!
